A friend informed me that my reversing light was not working so off i went to get a new bulb. new bulb fitted and reverse light still not working. So now i'm thinking reverse light switch problems, maybe just a dodgy connection but can anyone tell me where it is?

Is it where i think, next to the gear lever under the central housing for the gear lever and handbrake?

Or, is it under the car?

Or, even plugged into the gearbox itself?

On mine the wire block connector by the gearbox was rotten. Its a black thing under by the air filter housing. All i did was snip the wires and fit a new block connector job done, the light works now

Your last guess is correct - the switch is on the gearbox. Look at the gearbox from in front of your car. Look to the extreem right hand side, near the bottom - you should find the wires connected to a switch screwed into the gearbox housing - that's it. PS : The good news is - you now have a spare reverse light bulb ...
