Can anyone help me with this problem

My Central locking is playing up on my M reg 1995 323f 5 door hatchback. Problems are as follows
1 The Drivers door locks OK but when you open it and take the key out they all lock as the key returns to main position. I have to use the boot lock to open the doors.
2 The passenger door locks OK but does not do anything when you try and open it.
3 When you open the doors via the boot lock and start the engine all the doors lock (on occasions)
4 When you use the door lock button in the door armrest, all doors lock but when set to the open position, the door handle opens then shuts again.
5 When driving along a relay continually operates on and off and on occasions the door handles themselves open and close.

In desperation I pulled the fuse to allow manual operation and an auto electrician did not know where to start but suggested that it may have something to do with a timer relay for the indicators, which made no sense to me. To be honest I think he was guessing as he could not find the relay and never tested anything, just tried the locks and scratched his head.

Can anyone help. I bought the Haynes 323 manual but as you know, it is useless.

Sounds more like a job for a good auto electrician. I found a brilliant Auto 'leccy near my work; it turns out he does most of the electrical work for the local Mazda garage. So, you take it to Mazda, they take it to the leccy, he charges them 100 tokens (for example) to fix the problem, then Mazda charges you 150 tokens .....

The door locking timer relay is in the front passenger footwell forward of the door (can't remember if it's behind the trim panel or just above it)....

In my '98 V6 I'm sure the boot lock has no effect on the door locks. Maybe my car has a fault?

mines a 96 Exec and the boot has no effect on the rest of the doors.

I think you may find that you have a bodge job on your hands. it may be that somone has decided to put in their own central locking and not done a verry neat job.

I have a '94 GLXi and the boot lock operates the other two and visa versa.

Early cars have a push button boot button which you can lock and operate the central locking from. Later cars have the internal boot release on the floor near the petrol flap release and the key on the tail gate is just a boot release and not a lock as such. The tail gate is just a slam lock 8)

maybe one of your door lock motors needs adjusted.
probably the drivers door as this one will have a switch in it.
sounds like its really sensitive, and it keeps operating the relay.
or try disconnecting the boot lock motor/switch and see what happens then.
