I'm about to buy this :
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... eName=WDVW

Can anyone tell my if this stuff is any good? I have my MOT coming up in a few weeks so I'm wanting the car in tip top condition.
Any personal opinions or experiences?

Used it! currently have half a can left for my next 12,000 mile clean up.

I would recommend it, especially if the car has not been de-coked for a long while (or ever!).

....then again, I'm a sucker for all that kind of car product anyways!!

<engine did feel much smoother afterwards though and it can only help with the emmisions as the engine would recover some of the lost efficiency>

wai = ecotec junkie.

But am considering using it and value Wai's opinion, so will try it myself. Wai did start me on this whole 323 thing anyway (without knowing it!)

what kinda value? nominal 0.00001p like the Tesco 'money-off' vouchers?!

Got the Formula performance leads on now (can't feel much difference apart from the excess lead-lengths swinging around when I take corners hard!! :P  )

Waiting for my Denso Iridium spark plugs to arrive  should make a nice bit of difference in response and apparently it can give a Civic (non-Typre-R!) and additional 4 BHP!!

Tiswas, The Ecotek Powerboost similar to what you were talking about in the way that you keep the throttle open and feed the stuff through the vacuum in the air pipe (AFTER all the sensors and meters!!)

Copper, a good hint is to use the pipe that is high up (nearer the throttle body) the air pipe; just pull the existing pipe out and you have a direct feed to the inlet manifold without losing the vacuum OR killing your fingers trying to keep a small gap open at the the join of the pipe!! (did that the first time around; took 3 people altogether and hurt for days aftewards!! ...as it is you will fel the pain of holding down an aerosol nozzle for 2 mins at a time! :-({|= )

Rob; I may be slightly drawn to Ecotek products but I can give up anytime I want to..... ...anytime.... ....j jj j just don't fell like it yet.... ...one day... *shiver* 'DTs'-in-a-dark-alley-way-with-sunken-eyes-expression 8-[

Isn't the Powerboost stuff for cleaning the intake path?

Whereas Redex would be for lower down the engine, valves (intake and exhaust).

Nope.

Powerboost goes all the way through and out the exhaust (...and also picks up any rust that was in the exhaust and spits it out the other side; unfortunate if the rust was the last thing left before a hole... ).

Cleans any part that would normally come into contact with air-air/fuel mixture.
