Hi Gordon, (I assume you're talking about the BA here) sorry don't have the manual with me to confirm but from memory from reading mine I think it said two things: 1) If someone's set another code then, well, you need to know it BUT... 2) ...If they have not then it might have a default code, from memory it comes on a small metal tag attached to the keys which you're told to put away "in a safe place" (i.e. lose). If you're REALLY lucky it may still be attached to a keyring with the original key. This assumes you have the same unit as mine, a tape head unit from 1994. I suspect it's a Fujitsu-Ten (but not sure), it has a large volume knob (electronic push on-off) on the top left with bass/treb and bal/fade on two small recessed knobs underneath. Patrick |

Caution 3 consecutive errors will activate the antitheft system, and the audio unit will be completely inoperable and Err (error) will flash. When this happens, the unit must be replaced by an Auto- rised Mazda Dealer at the owner's ex-pense. blah blah blah - lol _________________________________________________________________ Speed is subjective to only how far you keep your right foot down..

Couple of things you could try- 1) Have a look at the sticker on the back of the unit, it might say the manufacturer. 2) There's a couple of pages on line that may be worth a go: a) Post by gy626 in https://mazda626.net/topic/2774-anti-theft-audio-system/#comment-24107 b) Post Sun Nov 22, 2009 2:18 am by Ernee in http://www.club323f.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=36431 Patrick |
