Hey guys, I have a radio unit on my 323f ba v6, and every time I turn the ignition on, obviously, it starts.

The thing is I always keep the radion on AUX with my iPod plugged in, and rarely start the radio.

But the aerial goes up every time, taking about 5-10 seconds up, 5-10 seconds down.

Can I do anything to unplug it from the radio end ?

There are 2 plugs, each with about 8 pins, but with one or the other unplugged it seems the radio won't work at all. Should I try covering up one pin at a time ?

Are there any risks ? Like shorting it ?

Pink or blue wire will be your antenna power out, if you have an aftermarket head unit

Crikey, a BA owner with a working aerial who doesn't want it to work!

Remove the aerial and sell it to me, I need one!

Yeah well it wasn't working at first, mostly not at all, the wire was broken in half.

I removed it and pulled the wire out, then soldered it with a lighter.

I tested it to see if it's a strong bond, and it was.

Then using a little file I tried to match the tooths, and it worked out fine.

The thing is the bars aren't straight and usually it gets jammed half way or 1/4. Sometimes it doesn t go all the way down ...

I do have a swicher in the dash, with 2 empty wires, maybe I can connect the aerial wire to it, and choose when it goes up or not
