Probably a silly question but.......

How easy is it to get to the back of the head unit, wiring, without taking the stereo out... is it possible, because I aint got a clue how to take my head unit out :S

Majority of Units are released by sliding a release Key down either side to release the Catches.My Clarion I can do with Mums Cutlery Knifes!.Otherwise your looking at removing silly amounts of Trim-No Need! or take it to an Audio fitters they'll probably do it seconds.

Its a JVC Head Unit, one of those that hides itself and pops back out again, seems as tho you cant fit anything dow the sides :S, I will have a look this weekend tho . Cheers

if you go to halfords they have the different brand keys i.e. sony, clarion, etc keys....

its all by the audio stuff in the shop, audio spares etc

which you simply stick down the side (they are really thin pieces of metal) they release catches on the unti so you can pull the head unit out, really cheap and so easy!

I had a look in the box and low and behold, the handle keys are in there... dohhhhh should think before speaking in future, thanks for the advice tho, seems as though it should be easier taking the head unit out, still dont look like much room there tho.

I bought an infinity bassbox for the boot so, again weather permitting should have it fitted this weekend..... I do wish I had a garage you know.

Well the weather wasn't too good but I did manage to get if fitted ..... ermmm only thing is how can I stop my windows from rattling, especially in the boot, sounds pretty good, still got to wait for new speakers coming for front doors then, hopefully she should sound great

So any ideas for stopping the windows rattling ?

How How!?!?! tell me how!!!! i've looked in the manual and it tells you how to get the little front bit off (really helpful) but i wanna take the whole thing out.... and put my nice Sony one in...

OKay, got bored, ripped it out with a pair of mole grips! lol fcuked the cage, but hey.... now my gorgeous baby is sitting where she belongs! as for the clarion, its been sprinkled in the bin! lol
