The aerial i have at the min is a telescopic 1. I dont mind but its about 2 and a half foot long!! Lol is there anywhere where i can get a smaller 1? Telescopic or not?

You can get allkinds of aerials. From bee-sting ones:

They start off quite cheap to about 30 odd quid for the (working) shark fin ones.

I fancy one of those shark fin ones, just worried if radio reception would be affected, Ive got a DAB headunit using the cars standard aerial with a booster adapter, just the standard aerial is hideously long

Sure you can get dab compliant bee stings.

Might try a standard shark fin with the booster first, the booster was 30 quid itself , as im thinking about removing the standard aerial and asking the bodyshop to fill the hole when I get the rear quarters painted
