I have had my 323f for 2 years which 1 and half of the alarm has been turned off by the key on the unit.

I went to my car the other day which is parked in a garage and a buzz was coming from the car and the indicator lights was on solid.

I started the engine and all went back to normal.

But now the red LED is red all the time and a buzz has returned.

Any ideas how to fix my problems?

Sounds like a possibly battery fault? Never had this alarm myself so not sure, but a lot of alarms will warn you if the battery gets too low, either by lighting your indicators or screaming at you

Or possibly a short in the wiring somewhere, but the fact that all went back to normal when you started the engine (so when the alternator is providing plenty of juice) suggests a duff battery to me - did the engine start ok? Did it crank at the right speed?

I replaced the battery when I got the car and did an alternator test at the time. the car has done 43,000 was that side should be good.

The car 1.8 starts fine, comes in to life on the turn the key.

Maybe not a battery issue then

I'm out of ideas, wait for someone with a brain to come along

Think I fixed the trouble and HughieW you was kind of right about the battery.

Just been down to check over the wiring and some other things, I started off by checking the battery with my alternator tester and found the battery clamp (negative) was very lose, held on by gravity.

The problem started about the same time I had some work done at a local garage and I think the grease monkeys must of not tighten the clamp back up.

323f is happy now and so am I, Just hope this is what it was. I kind of think it was.

Thanks again HughieW
