Does it not just un-plug and then plug back in? Or is it a case of chopping the wires like i had to do with my Sony cd player?

As long as you have the ISO connector, you should be able to unplug the clarion-ISO lead, and plug in the Sony one ;)

If someone has chopped it, and not spent the £10 on an ISO connector, you'll need to cut and splice the existing wires - they will be the same colour on the clarion and sony, so you should be ok :)

Get the old one out first. As Marc says, luckily the BA doesn't need an adapter. Unplug the connectors and aerial, then reconnect to the new sony unit. Sorted :D Also remember you need to remove the old cage and fit the new 1 that comes with the sony headunit. Push the little prongs out to lock it in place

I have just fitted a Sony head unit in my 323 and had to chop the wires due to the iso not matching the Mazda plug/pins.

You need a Mazda - ISO harness, and then the ISO - head unit harness ;)

Strange, my ba slotted straight together without adapter. My wiring might of been different to the majority though :D
