| Post subject: | Help me save my subs |
Like in the title i have damaged my subs . I have had a look at them but dont know enough about subs to attempt to fix them on my own . Only a little bit of the rubber on the one is broken but the cones are fine and the rest of the rubber is fine. Please help guys . these are my subs and this is the damage and so is this on the second one |

The cones are definitely not fine mate, they have split you could try bracing the rear of the cone with a glued thin plastic panel

The bit in the middle is the bullet, or dust cap. the larger bit is the cone, the rubber bit is the surround ![]() depends on the materials, these could get worse with any use, as the stress will increase the fractures...to be honest, I would say they're knackered mate - I've repaired a few drive units in the past, but subwoofers are under a lot of pressure, and usually the fail again... |

Most PRO audio drivers can be reconed, these being car audio drivers i doubt that they can be reconed. You might be lucky if you took them to your local speaker guy, he may have a cone that will fit the chassis but i image this will end up costing more than the speakers are actualy worth! |

even if you get the cone of the same dimensions, the material will probably not withstand the throbbing bass you're going to throw at it. how did it happen?
