i was thinking of getting a push button start in my car but if i did i would want to put a 30 second timer in for after the engine has stopped where i can still just turn the key to turn the engine back on for the rare cases that i stall the car any ideas how 2 do this?

i thought a push button start was like an immobliesr (sorry for the bad spelling) if not thats what i want i was going 2 hide the button.

It's nothing like an immobilizer. It's a button you press to start the car. ( ) All it does is bridge the wires which are connected when you turn the key. The key still needs to be in the ignition and the ignition turned on for the push button to work.

If you want an immobiliser, you need to buy an immobiliser your car may already have one - when you turn the ignition on, does a little yellow "Security" icon show up to the left of your dials? If so, you have an immobiliser.

alright i'm not getting my point across what i am looking for in an immobiliser switch that is wired 2 a push button start which i will hide i can do that what i don't know how 2 do put in a timer after the engine has stalled where u can just use the key. u get me?

Do you mean a hidden switch which you need to use to turn the ignition on? If so, again there's no timer needed - just cut the IG1 cable going to the ignition barrel, put a switch inline and hide it somewhere, then remember to switch it off when you park the car

Yeah thats it but i'm going to set it up so that it switchs back by its self but u will need 2 push the start button to start the engine so thats why i want a timer for if i stall so i can start up quick just in case.I know just a normal push button start would let me do it but i would never use it thats why i thought of putting an immobiliser in it.I thought someone might have done it before.

The car most probably already has an immobiliser built in, so why add an extra one?

i just like thinking up new ideas in my mind it seems good might stop my car getting stolen with the keys if they can't find the start button but i can see why other people would get sick of it just hope i don't

i had an idea for key-scratchers.. to built an electric shepherd into the chassis of the car.. so everytime i lock it, it shocks you if you touch it.
