I've read through the earlier posts on this, but my question is slightly different.

I was thinking, that seeing as dynamat and the copies are quite expensive (like £14 a door) has anyone thought of using that foil insulating wrap that B&Q/focus etc do? I mean its the same stuff more or less. B&Q have BOGOF offer on their £20 rolls and I'm thinking this could be a very viable alternative.

Or maybe even bubble wrap?

the sound deadening stuff removes out of the car sound as it were, aswell as enhancing bass and sound from the speakers.

if you try to do it cheaply using stuff that wasnt designed to do that job, you WILL end up less than happy with the results
(i work at halfords and deal with it day in day out )

go for the proper stuff is my advice mate, will be alot better

Got to be the proper stuff really. Bubble wrap wont do anything and neither will insulation.

The proper stuff is quite heavy and it stops the door skins and panels etc acting as a drum skin resonating the sound.

search for edead on ebay. Thats what I've just used. Around £50 for 30 sq foot. Done my whole boot and rear arches and tail gate! Works a treat, only problem I have now is loose exhaust baffles which now rattle to the bass!
