[color=green]Hello, sorry. I know I dont post often (lurker) but I've never really had a problem that needed remedied outside of what I could find an answer for on this forum and even then I wouldn't truely call these problems.

Ok so, my car has been of road for a couple of months and when it was parked up the alarm was never activated from the fob to save battery. However battery did drain anyway and just today I have powered her up. Now my fob isn't working (tried replacing the battery etc) so the alarm system has been disabled so the car can be started & everything is running as it should except for a long intermitent beeping coming from inside the car even when the car has been manually locked up. Any ideas as to what this is... if its alarm related or just because the battery has been drained... would be much appriecated as I dont fancy driving along listening to this racket, asides from the fact I would probably need to jump start her everyday lol. Please bare in mind I'm not car savvy when it comes to things like DIY ... but would like to try and apparently the best time for me to learn is when I actually have a problem.

The alarm system is a Cobra 5801, I think fitted at factory (as optional extra?) from the details I've picked up on after reading plenty... just incase you needed that info. I have just now sent a message to the man I bought my girl from and so am hoping for some light soon heh.

The alarm seems will be in long tamper mode. You will need to reset, and possibly re-program the remotes.

Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within 5 seconds, locate, press and hold in the valet/overide button, found under the dash area, (push button, spring loaded)
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes on solid, and the siren chirps once.

(Your valet switch might be the toggle (on/off) type. in this case, key on, flip switch in opposite direction, then turn the key off.)

This should reset the alarm, and reset the grounded relay on the starter wire, allowing you to start the engine.

At this point, the only thing working would be the keyless entry from the alarm, if it came equipped that way.

Just Repeat these steps to place it back to usable armed mode. You may get 2 chirps, confirming it, and the lights may flash twice as well.

you hold the two grey buttons at the same time beside the car wait for the light to go out then press the larger one twice thats it job done

Also i have read somewhere that you put the key in the ignition and turn it too the click before the engine starts and then hold down one of the fob buttons, that should get it all working again. I dont know if any of these answers work for sure, but if they dont work you might be better taking it into a garage.
