OK, so for a while I've had a thumping noise under the car.
Exhaust was slightly loose & knocking on the floor pan, that's what I thought it was; but that's now sorted, but there's still a clear occasional thump on any slightly bumpy road. Definitely underneath the car somewhere.
Like a flat, heavy surface bumping down onto another. A bit like when you forget to shut the boot hatch properly, and then you realise it's open when you go over a bump and the lid bounces and you get that little muted thump (surely I can't be the only one!

)
I've had a quick look over the springs and from what I can see without taking the wheels off they don't seem to be broken, and the car isn't misbehaving at all. Steering is fine. No noticeable difference in the ride. Car was up on ramp yesterday at a garage I trust, and they didn't remark on anything obvious hanging down or looking out of place when they sorted the cat/exhaust or drove it into the workshop.
I can only think that one of the shocks needs replacing? Not been done during the life of the car. Something ARB-related? Front drop links already replaced.
Any other suggestions I can follow up? Thanks.
