As those of you at JAE know my son is looking for new car. He quite fancies a BA and has seen this
http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-moto ... 1078581710

So having never owned a BA before I'm looking for opinions on this, and what to look out for if we do go and view it. Also is this a fair price etc.
Thanks :D

Looks smart enough! Check for rust around rear arches, down the sills and around the having points!
Nice colour!
Air con will probably need regassing!

Yeah definately looks smart enough Stu and check for rust where Nathan said. If its got mot and tax for a decent time id say that's a good price but maybe try come down to £500ish. Looks nice though mate!

yep, as mentioned cracking looking car, and do have a good check at usuall rust points, but with 74k miles the engine should be sweet enough, id also check for a sooty exhaust tip and have a look for holes around the centre pipe to back box joint, ive often found that to be a weak point for rust/holes.
but they are an ideal family car, i can fit 3 teenagers in the back quite comfortably, the g/f in the front seat and a lot of gear in the boot...i think you'll be surprised how big they are :D

Looks tidy enough in the pictures as others have said, so its worth going to look at, but check over the usual stuff - start it up from cold and check for oily smoke out of the back, check for rattles when it's running/revving (if it's from the exhaust, it's most likely just a heatshield), make sure the engine pulls smoothly and everything works as expected - then buy it for about £500 :D

Looks nice! Nicer than the ones I'm looking at to replace the 6 :evil4:
