Japfest Donington: what a fantastic day :thumbleft:

We had 10 cars turn up: 4 Fs, 2 RX8s, 2 MX3s, Spel's Honda, Matt & Kim's Toyota.

Really good to meet John ("Brucey"), who'd brought his RX8 down from up north. And thank you, Nick, for the tea!

Kelsey's on-site organisation was as disorganised as the ticket distribution, with me arriving first and the marshals having no idea where our stand was; and then a jobsworth on the front gate refusing to allow us onto the main site from the infield where the stand was, to go to the track session, because we didn't have our entry tickets with us and didn't have our hands stamped. After a heated discussion with Andy, said jobsworth finally let us through as long as we promised to get our hands stamped on the way out ...

My photos:

Group shot - nearly missed out Nick

We've been exceptionally lucky with the weather at all three track shows this year, let's hope the Performance Show and JAE are as good ...

well this was my 1st japfest and I have to say I loved it. my son even asked when the next one was. It was good to put some faces to names and we thoroughly enjoyed it, even if we were totally drained by the heat at the end of it( we're from the north east and aren't used to heat) I hope serena gets that pas pipe sorted

Cheers John, fingers crossed, the pipe situation is looking a little brighter than it was, on several fronts :thumbleft: Likewise, I hope you can get your V6 sills sorted out!

I'm really glad the long trip down was worth it for you 8) Will we see you at JAE?

Lovely pictures, looks like you all had a great time.

One problem though, it seems you all need to adjust your cameras:

- Colour balance is off: the sky is blue, not grey. And the grass is yellowish, almost looks brown.
- Contrast is too high: I see shadows and there are bright sparkly bits on the cars, almost like the sun is out: surely not!

If I didn't know better, I'd say it was nice good summer's day in Oz! Never seen it look so brown in the UK and early in the season too...

And all the cars look great, the sun highlights the rust-coloured one especially (says me with the boring white one) :D

Just think about the future MOTs, Hughie:

Mechanic- "You've got rust..."

You- "Nah mate, it's the paint!" :D

---------------------------------------------

Serena, we can compromise on 'brown' as long as the car is nicknamed 'Rusty!'

Alternatives: puce, cerise, vermilion, russet, burnished, carmine (cochineal), titian

Patrick

P. S. It's a lovely car. Wish I had one.
