Hello all,

Looks like my BJ needs a replacement starter motor.
I wonder if anyone has replaced one?
Is it an easy job?

Many thanks.

Just did that a week ago on my 1.9 BJ - i wouldnt characterize it as easy, especially without access to a hoist.

Ok, thank you. I did wonder about accessibility.

Well, you need to access it from below, right in front of the footwell. It is doable with the car on the ground but it's not fun. And you will need help to put the starter motor back into the car because you can't fit both hands into that space when you are lying under the car...
