Hi Guys,

I own Mazda 323 BJ Model 2001 Hatchback. I do have central locking but I am curious to have a remote control. I have read many posts and found out that some 323s do have built in remote module but they don't come with remote control fob to lock/unlock the door. Underneath the driver side in my car I have found a green coloured central locking module but I am curious to know will my car work if I just buy a remote fob and program that with my car ?

I did buy a universal keyless entry but have no idea how to buy that.

Looking forward for your value able comments.

Thank you in advance and greetings from Germany :)

Hello

In the UK most BJ models had remote facility, and if no remote was provided when you bought the car then yes you should be able to buy one and program it.

The basic models in the UK did not have remote facility, not sure about Germany but in the UK the 1.3 LX didn't have a remote, but the 1.5 LXi (and everything higher than that) did.

Hi jinglebells

Thanks mate for your reply. I have two questions.

1. The picture I included in my post "Door lock Relay" is this only door locking tool or is it also remote module ?

2. I heard that if I decode my VIN (somewhere online) I can find out if my car doesn't include remote module or not, could you tell me the good website where I can find and what keywords to look for in the decoded result to know if this was included or not.

3. If this is door locking module then how should I find a correct key fob as there are tons of different fobs on ebay/amazon.

Your response is highly appreciated.

That's just the relay.

If you have a remote sensor, it'll be in the rear quarter, not in the door ;)

I think you can find out if your car has the remote facility by trying the first part of the remote program routine, and if the car responds then it's trying to program it:-
1. All Doors closed, ign on.
2. Remove ign key.
3. Open drivers door.
4. Insert ign key, turn ign on, turn ign off, remove ign key.
5. Insert ign key, turn ign on, turn ign off, remove ign key.
6. Insert ign key, turn ign on, turn ign off, remove ign key.
7. Press and release the drivers door switch.
8. Press and release the drivers door switch.
9. Press and release the drivers door switch.
10.Buzzer should sound once or doors lock/unlock themselves.

And my 2001 facelift BJ has a different looking fob. It's a "Naldec 41601". Can take photos and upload if you want.

And as all my rear trim is out, I can go and find the remote central locking module and take a photo if you want.

Mine's a 1.6 GXi for reference.

I have a photo of this unit, can upload if you want, but it's pretty obvious when you have a look.

It's on the N/S (UK) under the 3rd seatbelt and is called "Keyless-Unit", Nalded 41607.

Or in mine it is anyway!
