hi everyone,new to the forum.just want to let bj owners know that brake master cylinders are unavailable from anywhere,inc mazda,no rebuild kits available either.immaculate car but will have to scrap it :cry: a cautionary tale

I find it hard that there are none available.

Yeah, say what. BJ is an independent platform to the focarse. The focus/C1 platform was the Mazda 3 (BK) and shared with a few other cars like Volvo v50 if I recall correctly. Something like that, I'm sure the internet knows.

When I was here hunting for one for mine, the Mazda parts department would sell me one, it was just a lot of £££. And then I found one on eBay...and never used it coz it was actually the caliper at fault coz I"d nipped the seal when I rebuilt it the first time....

i did mean new bmc.oxford mazda told me they are unavailable/obsolete,they couldnt get one.i didnt accept that as its a 2003 car.brakesint couldnt get one or rebuild kit.got one from salvage car.sorry for the misunderstanding. :oops:

I remember asking at a Mazda stealership, there was a Master Cylinder on the system, and it would have cost me £230ish plus the VAT.

got a bmc from a salvage car.will fit it at weekend.if it solves problem,great,if not,will get new.phoned mazda in london,they said they might be able to get one but just short of £240 inc vat.wont bother with local mazda in future.managed to find new bmc from germany through ebay-£83.
car been laid up for 2 weeks now.calipers sticking,stripped down,regreased,new flexi-hoses,still sticking!
