Hi all,

I would really appreciate some advice

We have a 2002 Mazda 323f 1.6 gxi , we tried to change the rear passenger brake hose at the weekend and the nuts/bolts were ceased and corroded but the hose came out of its fixings - so we (rather brother in law) tried to undo the fixing that fixes the line to the hose but that was ceased too! as it stood , we then had no car as the hose could not be re fixed, so no brakes!

Took it to local garage which is over the road from us, and he said he needs to order the brake line from Mazda as nowhere else has one,and will take a couple of days!

I was thinking he could have either made a pipe himself or reflared the end that joins the hose?? Hubby went over to speak to the mechanic about the pipe to find that he has already took fuel tank off and pipe out (having cut it out so unusable) Mazda has since informed him that the part wont be here until possible 5th November as its coming from abroad! Im not too impressed... are there any more options regarding this.. ? ir make one ourselves, could mechanic cancel the order even though Mazda made the mechanic pay for the part upfront?

Thanks in Advance

They won't be able to cancel, parts from Belgium are not sale or return.

Not easy to make up the flexi hoses really, best to buy them...sometimes it's the little things like this that cause the most trouble!

just an update

its the actual brake line that has to be made (the metal one that goes from front to back ), anyway, the Mazda order was cancelled, i took brake line that came off car to another garage who matched size/length and sorted out the ends - when we took it to the garage who has our car, he looked horrified, i dont think he's ever done one before! having to ask someone who came to pick up some oil from his garage "can this copper pipe be bent?" doesnt fill me with much hope!

Anyway he then said that he will probably manage to do it tonight, as other customers are infront of us now .... is that common practice?

Thanks in advance
