I need the outer CV joint changing on the right hand side. Is it possible to do this without removing the driveshaft from the gearbox and without disturbing the intermediate drive shaft and the driveshaft mounting bearing bracket?

Hello diesel

I've just read section 03-13 (Drive Shaft) of the manual, but it doesn't seem to be clear! It says how to separate the joint shaft and the right side drive shaft, but also talks about draining the Tx fluid to take them both out.

Maybe someone else with better IT skills than me has the whole section and can get it to you more easily than I can, but I can do screen shots of some pages if you're stuck.

Thanks, I checked out the Mazda manual 03 -13 and that guide states that the whole driveshaft is to be removed. Which is the normal procedure for most vehicles.

However, there is a thread on the club's BA forum which indicates that the job can be done without removing the driveshaft viewtopic.php?t=6977 the BA and BJ have a similar setup, just wondering if anyone has done the CV joint on the BJ using the same procedure?
