I am in the process of making the two original clear back lights that i have into reverse and fog lights, i have two spare ones, a clear and a red, which will have to be buchered to do it, the plan is to cut off the top part, just where the bulb holder fits on all four of the lights, these will be used again, then cut away a larger section off the back of the lights, large enough to house two bulbs, i will then get a piece of aluminium to make a small plate to cover the back of the lights where it has been cut away, cut two holes in the plate, about 30mm, then bond the bulb holder parts that were cut off before over these holes, cut another piece of aluminium to fit inside the light to seperate the reverse light from the fog light, then fit the aluminium plate with the bulb holders onto the back of the light, i will now have a reverse and fog light in each housing :) will try and post some picys of the process.

I like the look of the round one's, but this is what i've done so far.

The cut off bulb holders, used a junior hacksaw for this.
Image

The light with the back cut off, used the junior hacksaw again after marking around it.
Image

Aluminium plate with holes cut in (using a 30mm starrett cutter) bent sides and two fixing points.
Image

Bulb holders on plate, these will have to be araldited on.
Image

Aluminium plate to seperate the two bulbs, i cut a piece of cardboard to get the right angle and size.
Image

The plate in position, remember to get the plastic swarf out of the lense, i used an airline.
Image

From the front with the swarf removed.
Image

All put together.
Image

LED foglight so as not to get to hot in the smaller space.
Image

What do you all think, will put some picys on when i've done the other side and got them working on the car :)

I wasn't going to, but i found that when i tested them at work the lights seemed brighter when seperated, especially the foglight.

Yeah thought that might be the case as the light is more concentrated if you separate the compartments :thumbright:

Both on together.

Am well pleased with the outcome, so will be doing the other side in the next couple of days :) :)

When I said I had the same idea, I was thinking about cutting both lights in half and sticking them back together. A bit like this:

Originals -
Fog and Reverse:

llllll llllll
llllll llllll

Custom:
Fog and Reverse:

llllll llllll

If you get me??
