From what I know You can use
- Nitrous (expensive)
- CO2 fires extinguisher (but it can stall engine)
- alcohol mixtures sprayed as a mist on IC
- water mist

Is this what You meant?

Yep, right before the start.Lowering the temperature of the intercooler
so it cools the air better from the verry start -> 0km/h.
The equation: more dence air(more Oxygen) + more fuel = bigger BANG!! and better start..
and thus better time on 400m..

Up up up :D
After breaking tilton twin discks and input shaft on 02M gearbox I decided to use this opprotunity for a small upgrade:
Image

Last sunday I went to Turboscheune Test & Tune in Finsterwalde. After arrival it was time for first adjustments after changing PB to ethanol. Plan was for 2-2.2 bars of boost hower I wasn't able to get this, and despite my efforts I did get only 1.9. To be honest I was hoping for bigger change between 1.5 bar on PB compared to 1.9bar on Ethanol. I guess I'm being hold by small exhaust side of Holset (8cm). Nevertheless I did some passes and was able to make really good PB for car power and weight:
1 pass - 12.217 (throttle linkage fell of after changing to 4th gear)
2 pass - 11.174
3 pass - 10.911
4 pass - 10.698 (best ET that day. in my opinion really good time for ~500HP and 990kg :D)
5 pass - 10.897
6 pass - 11.566 (after changing to 4th gear car startet to run on 3 cylinders, and after slowing down it died)
Timeslips:
1st pass

4th pass:

TTT is great event and if someone is saying different he's lying ;). I'm making this a must in my calendar hehe

Also changed jeep wheels (11.5kg) to Centerlines (6kg):

Sorry for no updates but it was crazy period of time and lost tracking where I wrote and where not. I hope you can forgive me :D

So back to the subject.
There was no big failure. Shim for regulating valves fell of the valve and didn't allow it to close:
Image

After this I bought new shims, but this time they are mounted on buckets not valves. Hope this will help. Hope because I didn't have proper opportunity to test it.
Together with new shims I made some "adjustments" in body ;).
30kg less:
Image

made almost one peace front (welded hood with lamp covers and grill?)
Image

Made hood vents:
Image

Holder for laptop, and installed N2o system
Image

Removed air filter and made 4" aluminium pipe sticking out in front bumper:
Image

This picture was taken at TTT on 09.10.2016. Unfortunately weather had different plans and it was raining all day so there was not even one pass :(.

Came back home and finished Drag Wing and at 26.10.2016 went for last TTT to push everything I can from this setup:
Image

Once again it didn't end well :(. Made 2 weak passes and in 3rd one (I think) engine started to work on 1-2 cylinders less. First thought was that again shim fell of so removed head cover checked it and everything was ok. Changed spark plugs, coils etc - nothing. Last try was to remove fuel rail and blow through injectors. After this car started to work like it should. So all happy went to make a pass.
Made a burnout, staged, and go. 1st gear, 2nd, 3rd and again engine not running on all cylinders. After 2 more attempts to clean injectors it was getting only worse, so I had to throw in the towel. I was super angry because car was pulling like crazy. When I made 10.69 I could get more then 1.9bars of boost, and on now I was getting boost cuts on 2.4 bars. If car would be running like it should I guess I would shave a few tens of a second from las PB. But what to do.....

Before this season I made a Stainles steel fuel rail which I hope will be a remedy for all fuel problems and I will get to low 10s (fingers crossed):

Stay tuned ;)

so exhaust manifold is done:
Image

it turned out that IC is to high:
Image

So I modified it:
Image

Pressure tested and afeter few corrections it was ok:
Image

Had to relocate radiator:
Image

With new position I had to modify it as well:
Image

That's how finished "product" looks like:
Image

I'm really happy with how it all turned out. I hope it will work as good as it looks hehe.

Also made a test of my manifold:

Sad part is that I wasn't able to start the car to see at what gear I will get boost hahaha.
There is some issue with injectors or their adapters so I have to buy new adapters first and hope it will solve the problem

It turned out that all injectors are seized. I connected them directly to battery and it was just sparking so the coil should be fine... Luckily I had old siemens 850cc injectors. Idle (oil was about 60 deg.)

This allowed me to start the car and do few pulls on 2nd gear. I was really surprised how it went. Turbo is spining on idle (~1100rpm), and during 2nd gear pull with retarded ignition and boost controlled only by WG springs I did get 1 bar at ~5600rpms :O.

new tires (26/10 R15 vs 185/65 R15)

Max turn radius hahaha:

Fancy pancy exhaust tips:
Image

Last weekend I went to TTT for real 1/4 mile testing. Long story short a lot of problems with fuel system (plenty of corrosion inside fuel lines and tank). However this time I was able to do few runs. No PB this time but weather condition was far from perfect, I couldn't get stable AFRs and a lot of problems with going from the hole (I almost stalled engine few times).
Best time from that day - 10.89 @ 193km/h (4th gear poped off and I had to put it again ......)
